New Delhi [India], Mar 6 (ANI): Women in today’s world are equal to men — both in opportunities and responsibilities. She may be the boss at office, a wife who builds a better home for her family, a mother raising her children or a teacher who imparts knowledge to youngsters.
For the occasion of the upcoming International Women’s Day, five women nutritionist”>nutritionists from across India share how women can efficiently balance their lives for better.
Mumbai-based nutritionist”>nutritionist Madhuri Ruia says, “Women, today, need to focus on building energy reserves to maintain work life balance and build careers, look after home, children and family.”
She further adds, “Healthy wholesome nutrition and daily exercise is what can help women build energy reserves and immunity. Women must put themselves on par with every other family member in terms of their nutritional needs, avoid skipping meals, crash dieting to stay on top of their game.”
Delhi’s Ritika Samaddar adds, “In present times, women face various health issues, from being overweight to feeling weak, lethargic and fatigue are the common concerns. Keeping a check on what you eat and your lifestyle will help to prevent these common concerns. Women need to focus on maintaining eating healthy and make that their goal for a healthy lifestyle.”
Chandigarh based nutritionist”>nutritionist Aastha Khungar says that striking a healthy balance between work and personal life is a difficult challenge but it’s all the more necessary to maintain this balance in today’s times, especially for women.
She elaborates, “If you are not in a good shape physically, mentally and emotionally, both your work life and personal life are bound to suffer. Choose healthy snacks, which are packed with nutrition above processed and calorie dense snacks. Incorporate healthy ingredients like a handful of almonds ensures you are energised throughout the day and simultaneously get your share of nutrition in form of essential nutrients Like vitamin E, dietary fibre, proteins additionally riboflavin, phosphorus, manganese, copper, calcium, folate, iron, niacin, thiamine, zinc and potassium.”
Vizag’s Anjali Dange explains that stress in different areas and forms can lead to fatigue and can be an invite to lifestyle diseases for women. She adds that gynaecological issues such as hormonal imbalances due to a malfunctioning thyroid or cyst formation in the ovary can cause mood swings and a lot of women show symptoms of depression today.
“Irregular eating habits and lack of quality sleep further leads to obesity,” she explains, adding, “Eating mindfully and consciously is the only solution to most of such problems. Learning to control portions in the main meals helps to a large extend. Carrying healthy snacks to work like fruits or nuts like almonds helps to avoid binge eating.”
In conclusion, Sheela Krishnaswamy, a nutritionist”>nutritionist from Bangalore says there are a few things that everyone, especially women, should keep in mind for a healthy lifestyle:
-Never skip your breakfast.
-Take a simple breakfast like boiled eggs, omelette, milk with cereals along with nuts like almonds, raisins etc. for a wholesome and healthy breakfast.
-Drink lots of water throughout the day, at least 3 litres to keep yourself hydrated.
-Try to eat at the same time every day.
-Munch on fruits and a handful of almonds daily between the meals as a snack to get enough nutrients like fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, proteins and good fats to keep yourself supercharged. (ANI)
