The facility of mobile number portability can fall in the next year i.e. after March 2019. This is due to the losses being incurred in the services of portability companies in India and the license period of the companies is also being terminated. According to media reports, MNP interconnection in India offers telecom solutions and services to portability. Both companies have been facing huge financial losses due to the order to reduce the number of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ports. Indeed, the fees for the number portraying TRAI has been reduced from Rs 19 to Rs 4. Licenses of these companies also end in March 2019.

According to the reports, both of these companies have conveyed their position by writing to the Department of Telecommunication of India. Companies have written to the Department of Telecommunication, from January, 80 per cent decrease in the portability, which is causing them huge losses, so they can stop their services.

If the companies actually implement their decision, then it will be difficult for those customers who would want to port their mobile number for some reason. Typically, the customer has the poor calling quality of any telecom service provider, bill or Distracts from tariff and ports their number. The old mobile number remains the same in porting the number, just the service provider changes. On the fears of the closure of portability, an official of the Department of Telecommunications told the media that licenses could be issued to other companies in the event of not resolving the problem with existing companies.

According to media reports, the relocation of Reliance Communications and the presence of Reliance Geo Infocom has increased the number of mobile numbers to go up to 3 times. In the past, Tata Teleservices, Aircel, Telenor India have also shut down their services. At the same time, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have made their tariff plans cheap, which is expected to port number by customers in large numbers.

Explain that MNP Interconnections, which are offering services in South and East India, has also surrendered the license. Companies have moved the court against the order of heavy reduction by TRAI in the charge of porting the number, whose hearing date has been registered on July 4. According to the reports, the two companies have applied for porting 370 million number till March this year, whereas, in the previous month’s figures, 2 companies will get about 20 million applications.
